\"Seaglass<\/a>This past Easter weekend we stayed at the Seaglass Towers, a Bluegreen resort in Myrtle Beach, SC. \u00a0We came here as part of a Bluegreen sampler package, we attended the mandatory sales pitch, which was a little more pressure than we have had with other resorts. In the end, the salesman offended my wife and we firmly ended the sales pitch.<\/p>\n

The building<\/span><\/em>: Seaglass towers, as explained to us was purchased by Bluegreen a few years back. It has a checkered history and has had a few different owners. The building was damaged as Hurricane Hugo came through, but today’s building shows off a beautiful exterior with nice landscaping. The interior of the building is nice; but nothing spectacular.<\/p>\n

Unit Size\/ Features<\/em><\/span>: The design of the unit is very functional and was in great condition. Considering there is just over 400 sf of space, they have packed allot in there. For such a small space, there was a full kitchen, lovely bathroom very functional living room\/dining area. There was also a small balcony where one could see the ocean. It appears there are two views, street view and ocean view. When we stayed, it was very windy and chilly, because there are so many windows, the unit had a tough time staying at the desired temperature, and we ended up cycling the thermostat to maintain 70 degrees.<\/p>\n

The bedroom was quite comfortable, not roomy, but very comfortable.<\/p>\n

The Kitchen had all the usual amenities and was well stocked on cookware, as one expects in a timeshare. The setting size was only for three vice the normal 4 or 6 we are used to seeing.<\/p>\n

My only complaint of our unit is that the walls are thin, and we heard all the kids running up and down the hallway…all night long.<\/p>\n

Resort amenities<\/em><\/span>: There is a swimming pool and Jacuzzi available, but the swimming pool was full of children so we didn’t use either one. the grills are shared with the Yachtsman next door, as I believe the laundry facilities are. The parking is adequate, but once again it too is shared with the Yachtsman facility. Parking is free. I’d recommend using the covered parking about a 100 yards away, but it is free.<\/p>\n

Staff<\/em><\/span>: the staff is fantastic, even the Bluegreen reps were very nice and chatty. We didn’t have any maintenance problems, so I cannot speak of the responsiveness, but someone called from the front desk (or bluegreen desk) and wished us a Happy Easter. That was real nice. Check in and check out went smoothly with no problems at all. There were no unexpected charges as we were checking out.<\/p>\n

Area Attractions<\/em><\/span>: Seaglass is located right on the boardwalk. Not even a 1\/4 mile from the big wheel attraction. I don’t think there could be a better spot to be. Everything was within walking distance. Due to the temperature\/wind; we didn’t get out to the boardwalk; but we will next time!<\/p>\n

Resort activities<\/em><\/span>: the sign that was in the elevator was from a couple of weeks ago, and we didn’t participate nor ask about any activities. It did appear that there were kids activities, but the information was a couple of weeks old.<\/p>\n

Couples or Families<\/em><\/span>? This resort is perfect for a couple to get away to for a bit. I think, especially in our unit, a family would have been on top of each other. For a couple it is perfect, but for a family, it is a bit small.<\/p>\n

Rating<\/em><\/span>: I give this resort a 7.5 on the TUG scale. I’d love to give it a higher rating, but there weren’t allot of things to do on sight and the decor of the units were nice; but not spectacular.
