Good friends are always welcome<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

From Rochester, MN we head north. I’m not headed to Alaska, but to Detroit Lakes, MN. This lovely section of land is a joy to drive through. It’s gentle rolling farmlands in the south give way to a landscape littered with lakes.<\/p>\n

Part 2 of the journey was one of the most relaxing day’s I’ve had in a long time. \u00a0I met with a good friend of mine, Fred. \u00a0I’ve known Fred for….forever. \u00a0It has been too many years since I have last seen his family; so it was just great when I pulled into their driveway and I was greeted by the newest addition to their family, a Great Dane pup. \u00a0We spent the night catching up on old times, drinking one or two more beers than perhaps we should have and just having a good time.<\/p>\n

There is no substitute for good friends, and we will try and stay in touch a bit better than we have in the past decade. \u00a0We are planning a trip with Fred, his wife (Joy), the bosslady, and I.<\/p>\n
