I love this resort (I am an owner for full disclosure). There have been some management “difficulties” over the past few years, and the accommodations showed a bit of that neglect; which is too bad…because I love coming here! The reason we bought here was the convenience to everything without being in a casino.

Unit:

The Bora Bora unit we had was quite comfortable; and I fell asleep on the couch on more than one occasion. A couple of things to comment here on though would be:

Kitchen: cabinets show signs of use; however gentle. Our unit was lacking a few of the basics; walked down to the front desk and had the simple things taken care of.

Washer/Dryer: this was the biggest disappointment of the trip. We did our laundry only to find the washer leaked (only the initial load though, the maintenance guy couldn’t find anything wrong), and the dryer didn’t fully dry the clothes (we hung them in the bathroom to finish drying overnight).

Entertainment center: the radio remote didn’t work. When looking at it; it appeared that a previous TS user had thrown the remote – it was all beat up.

Other than these, the unit was very comfortable. We had a wonderful view of the desert. Because of this; I didn’t spend much time on the patio (much to my disappointment).

Resort:

Tahiti Village (TVV) has a shuttle that runs on the hour (1/2 hour on weekends too). We had no problems during the check in; and whenever I went to the front desk and asked for something, they bent over backwards. There are planned activities every day; We took advantage of a tour, but we didn’t have much success at getting back to TVV for the activities. TVV is a good for kids of all ages, plus adults (the 24 hour whirlpool is nice at 2:00 am). The staff is tops. Everyone; from the groundskeeper, maids, to the front desk staff are extremely helpful and desire to assist you.

One thing caught me off-guard; they charged me $10/day for an “activity” fee. I was pretty upset by that as we only used the pool/grill once during our stay. Speaking of the grill, if you use it, don’t forget to turn the gas on! On the bright side, I wasn’t the only one that was totally baffled when I turned the grill on and no gas came out.

We pimped ourselves out to attend the “owner’s update” and save a lot of money on the Grand Canyon tour and a show/dinner combination. Although I knew the “owner’s update” was a sales pitch; I was unprepared for it. They didn’t even want to talk about TVV and how to use it, all they wanted to do was upsell you. Needless to say, we had some “professional disagreements” and we walked; their attitude caught me by surprise.

In short, I look forward to my next visit to my favorite resort in Las Vegas. Even though I hate the owner’s updates, I’ll pimp myself out again; it does save quite a bit of money for 90 minutes of pain.

This place has the potential to be an outstanding resort, instead of just a “great resort”.

We stayed here 1st week in October, 2012.
