I’d like to extend a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to my faithful readers. If you don’t celebrate Christmas, I hope you have (had) a wonderful holiday! I truly love this time of year, and while this year has been busier than most (I switched vocations a few months back and am still learning my trade), I wanted to spend a moment and wish each of you, a hearty, and heartfelt “Merry Christmas!” For those of you that know me, you know darn well I’m not the “happy holidays” kind of guy. If you take offense at being wished a Merry Christmas; sorry. It is not my intention to offend you, but to send you well wishes. Please, feel free to wish me a Happy Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, Ramadan, Diwali, and, of course a loud and festive Chinese New Year! Check out the Mother Nature Network’s website for a good write up of each holiday above.
As all of you know, my father and I enjoy a cup of coffee every Saturday, 6:00 am, his time. We, my father and I, received a double gift, we each received a box, with nine smaller boxes in it. Each of the smaller boxes is labeled for January through September. Within each box is are small bags, each with their own Quote. Each box has enough bags for two – three cups of coffee and a quote for each bag. The coffees are a mixed bunch. So we will have several things to talk about besides politics, the women in our lives, bad jokes, and life in general. Our added topics include the taste of the coffee and the quotes attached to each bag.
I think I’m seeing a new column for this blog for the next several months, “Coffee with the Dr.” which will go into some of the conversations and a general feel good article.
The first quote is from Helen Keller; “The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched – they must be felt with the heart.” What do you think of when you read this quote?
So, from our home to yours: Merry Christmas and wishes to you for a happy, blessed, new year!
