2009JUL21 – I feel violated – can I get aid?

posted in: Politics | 0

Good morning my brothers and Sisters! Today’s topic is going to generate some hate and discontent; but hey, that is why I am here. I’m sure you all have been following the latest political sagas. Did you know that Ron Paul’s bill to audit the fed now has over 200 supporters in Congress? I thought that was pretty cool. I know I have to stick to a monthly budget, the least the fed could do is stick to a yearly one. I audit my checkbook every couple of weeks to make sure I’m not overdrawn; what do you think would happen if I went to my bank and said hey, I’m one million in the hole, can I have another $20,000 to buy a car? Of course I’d be thrown out on my keister.  My Senators are Mr. Web & Mr. Warner, and my Representative is Mr. Nye; I hope they get a chance to read this. If by chance they do, I hope they provide feedback. Just for the record, I voted for ….(did you honestly think I was going to tell you who I voted for?).

In case anyone is interested in learning more about the Campaign for Liberty .

Ahhh; what is my political affiliation you may ask, officially I am an independent (Lou Dobbs would be proud) and when thinking about what Congress should be doing; the 10th amendment comes to mind

“The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.”

What does that mean to you and I? I think Congress needs to get out of our knickers and do the peoples’ business for the betterment of this country. For instance; in a time of incredible deficits and stupid spending across the aisles; why did we give the Palestinians $900 Million? Just an FYI, that reads $900,000,000.00 – the average US household income for 2007 was $50,000.00. Ms. Clinton (and our congress) volunteered the annual income of 18,000 families be sent to Palestine as aid. How many mortgages would that have saved in THIS country? What in the (bad place that gets real hot) did the USA have to do with Israel invading the West Bank that cost 18,000 families their income? Let’s get our own house in order before helping the rest of the world; let’s take a 1 to 2 year foreign aid sabbatical. Observations?

UPDATE: I think this post is even more applicable today (2011/June)
