Voting took place nationwide today. My race was pretty small, only our Governor, LT. Governor, Attorney General, and local races. After I voted, I was chit-chatting with one of the persons pounding the pavement in front of the poll places, and they stated that there were no major lines to speak of.
That got me to thinking, why don’t people turn out for the mid-term elections? They are just as important as the nationwide ones. In my mind, as a voter, the lesser the turn out, the more impact your single vote has. Do folks just not want to take the time?
On another topic; this election I did something I normally wouldn’t consider. I voted, not based upon who I think would be the best person for the job, but I choose the lesser of the evils represented. There wasn’t ONE candidate running for Governor of Virginia that represented my views. Well; there was one, but he dropped out of the race early on.
It makes my mind wander. I think my cat and I will have to discuss this further….
