You just can’t fix stupid!

As we all know, I’m currently in Tucson, AZ visiting family.  In today’s paper (11/04/2011), the Arizona Daily Star; there is an article about someone “tagging” Saguaros in this area.  Now,  Saguaros are unique to this area of the desert, and are commonly seen in western movies.

This is something I just cannot get my mind wrapped around. Why would any deface a national treasure like this?  I simply cannot understand why some people deface others property.  It serves no purpose, and it just….I find it very frustrating.

Imagine if you will.  You are walking along a nice paved trail designed for walking, enjoying the beautiful sunrise in Tucson.  You pause, close your eyes, breathe in the fresh, cool morning air.  As you sigh (you are in your happy place now) you open your eyes.  Do you notice the golden rays of sun reaching over the mountains-no.  Do you notice the green vegetation-no.  What is the first thing that catches your attention – a beautiful Saguaro defaced by someone’s ignorance and stupidity.  What was a golden moment has fled, and you are left with the thought that maybe humanity is sinking into the abyss.

Walls are easy to repair, but this type of vandalism… just fries my ass.  You cannot paint them, as that may interfere with the photosynthesis process (someone a lot smarter than I can explain that better). You cannot scrape them, as they are full of thorns and such, plus, that would look even worse.  It takes years for the paint to fade… and I just find it repulsive that some jerk would do this.

If you happen to visit the Tucson, AZ area; you should visit the Saguaros National Park.

Hiya! Quick question that’s completely off topic. Do you know how to make your site mobile friendly? My website looks weird when viewing from my iphone 4. I’m trying to find a template or plugin that might be able to fix this problem. If you have any suggestions, please share. Many thanks!

Hi, I don’t know off the top of my head, But I would recommend the using a pre-built framework, I like WordPress, but there are others. A quick Google search found this for WordPress themes. Good luck, Dr. D.
