Lunch with Responsive

2013-11-15_13-55-21_436Today was a good day.  I had the pleasure of having lunch and good discussion with M, E, & L; they talk about their travels on their blog: Responsive. I met them for lunch today at the Cheesecake Factory in Virginia Beach.  Here, they were kind enough to give the Boss-lady a sales pitch regarding full time time-sharing.  I can tell you; she very much enjoyed the conversation, and I think it is simply a matter of time before she gives me the green light on my (eh-um…I mean our) adventure.

My favorite part of the lunch was the free flow of information and the easy flowing conversation.  M & E talked to me at length about the logistics of putting three, sometimes four people in a Prius on “moving day.” It was interesting to discuss Interval International and the Worldmark exchange systems. One of the things I learned is the importance of a detailed budget, their budget is very detailed, and can be a good example of what to expect.  In order to do this, the boss-lady and I definitely have to have a positive income stream and a comfortable emergency fund to take advantage of sales when they occur.

We also discussed our histories, and how we came to be where we are today.  M & E; thank you for a fantastic lunch.  I look forward to the next time you are in the area; consider this an open invitation to our house.

I learned that we still have some issues to work out:

  • Mail – they have solved this; but I would be unable to use a similar solution.  Mail will continue to plague me; but time is on my side.
  • Medical/Prescriptions – the key is to do this before our health fails.  I can definitely see their point on this one.  We would probably have to find a nationwide pharmacy to switch our prescriptions to (Walgreens, CVS, Rite-Aid…)

Until next time; S-A-L-U-T-E!!  (Hee-Haw style)

Hello! I could have sworn I’ve been to this blog before but after browsing through a few of the articles I realized it’s new to me. Regardless, I’m definitely happy I stumbled upon it and I’ll be bookmarking it and checking back often!
