Legacy Vacation Club – Orlando, FL

In one word: Disappointing. We stayed here 22 – 29 December, 2013.

We stayed at Legacy Vacation Club (RWO) over Christmas week. We were supposed to stay with another family; but they backed out at the last minute – lucky for them. We were warned prior to making the reservation that this unit may not meet our expectations; but we needed a two bedroom, and this is all we were offered through II.

Unit:
When we first saw the unit we were being provided; we requested a new unit. We were denied with the excuse that the resort was full. Given this is Christmas week, which was acceptable. The unit we stayed in was a two bedroom, two floor townhouse. One bedroom was upstairs with the living accommodations; and one was downstairs in the general area. The unit had a small apartment stacked washer and dryer.
Problems with our unit included:
– Fridge had no capacity to make ice. Neither trays nor ice maker were in the refrigerator. Maintenance did come and install an ice maker, but it wasn’t installed properly and flooded the unit below.
– Bathroom sink didn’t drain. Maintenance personnel unjammed the clog, didn’t help much – fixed it ourselves by removing the drain cap and used a hanger.
– Many kitchen items we have come to expect from II resorts were not included. We had to call housekeeping for trash bags.
– Loose electrical wiring to an overhead light. The maintenance folks weren’t worried about it; but I know it would fail my local electrical code.
– Small washing machine, dryer didn’t dry; probably the dryer vent on the outside was clogged. Ended up bringing dirty clothes back on return trip, which is something we don’t normally do.
– Lamps were missing light bulbs.
– Kitchen was not stocked well, we are used a certain amount of “getting started” supplies; there were none except one sampling of coffee.

Resort:
Check in was quick and pleasant. Resort grounds were clean and well maintained. The resort is actually well located; pretty close to everything, but you do need a car. The resort offers no shuttle service to the parks; but they do have an “arrangement” with a cab company, maybe discounted rates? There is no mid-week cleaning at this resort, not that we were expecting it.
When called for the resort sales pitch; it was a very short presentation and we were not pressured; for obvious reasons.

In short- we would prefer not to stay here again, and I could not recommend it in good conscience.
