Greetings everyone! Today is “Constitution day”, a day which has been recognized since 1940, albeit a different name (“I Am An American Day” 1940-1952; “Citizenship Day” 1952 – 2003; “Constitution Day and Citizenship Day” 2004- present).
On September 17, 1787, the delegates to the Constitutional Convention met for the last time to sign the document they had created. The Library of Congress has an outstanding set of references. Our Constitution is 225 year old! Happy Birthday to you…Happy Birthday to you…..(you can sing the rest).
By clicking on the above link you can find all kinds of information about the Constitution, how it came about, and other good works.
I think everyone should have their own copy of the Constitution. Don’t have one? Want one for free? Call your Representative or Senator and ask them for one. Don’t know who it is (shame on you!), visit Whoismyrepresentative.com.
Have fun everyone; and let’s be safe out there.
