We stayed here the last week of February, 2012.
This was one of those vacations taken for two reasons; a) my week was expiring and b) needed some quiet time. This was a working trip.
We were in the 1400 building- Governor’s Manor. There were activities in the basement, a movie theater and such. The property is well maintained, and the staff, all I can say about the staff is Outstanding! Everyone I ran into was very helpful. Upon check-in I received a sheet listing each of their daily activities, enough to keep everyone entertained while I’m working (working vacation for me).
The weather wasn’t the best, the outside pool was closed and I didn’t want to BBQ in the rain.
Unit:
The unit has everything expected in a 2BR unit. The coffee maker seems a bit larger than we’re used to, so that was nice, very nice! There are three TVs, all LCD and nice sized. The unit is R-O-O-M-Y! The unit was very roomy with nice tall ceilings. Perfect for us, and the accommodations are nicely done, granite counter tops, large cabinets, just looks sharp (Marriott’s usually do though). Also, the fireplace was awesome (especially with a glass of wine)…don’t even know where to begin with that, this is what will bring me back another winter! Free high speed internet access.
Resort:
PROS: Nice, quiet location. The staff was very friendly and cordial.
CONS: A car is required if you’re visiting here. Finding the place at night is difficult at best, especially if you are using the address listed on the timeshare confirmation letter. The GPS address is different, so call the front desk and get the GPS address, saves you a lot of time and frustration.
There were no unexpected fees. They do put a hold on your CC when you check in of $50.00/day in case you charge activities and such to your room. Kind of a pricy hold ($350.00 for a week), but it’s ok as it fell off with no problems.
