2013, can you imagine just last year the world was supposed to end! Well my friends, we made it through another year.
We had a smaller get together this year, and it was nice. Just ours and another family, nice, quiet and peaceful. As is my tradition, I said the prayer this year:
In the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit:
Lord, so often times, as any other day, when we sit down to our meal and pray
We hurry along and make fast the blessing … Amen. Now please pass the dressing.
We’re slaves to the ‘ol factory overload. We must rush our prayer before the food gets cold.
But Lord, We’d like to take a few minutes more to really give thanks to what We’re thankful for.
For our family, our health, a soft bed, Our friends, our freedom, a roof over our heads. We’re thankful to be surrounded by those whose lives touch us more than they’ll ever possibly know.
Let us not forget our family and friends, those who couldn’t be here with us today; May they have plenty of blessing on this day. Keep those in the Philippines in our hearts, and full of your grace.
May our words and actions flow with Peace, Friendship and Love, to reflect your wisdom from above.
Give us courage to act when called, and treasure the gifts and love that surround us each day.
With no further ado, let us end with our customary Grace: Bless us O Lord and these thy gifts, which we are about to receive from thy bounty, through Christ, Our Lord; Amen.
So this was our blessing for this year’s feast. I wish prosperity and blessings to all, and I really do wish for world peace. We really are, not that different from one another.
